The finest car of its class: Jaguar MK IX

The story has an early start. Since my brothers and I were always interested in cars from an early age onwards, we frequently went to visit vintage car events near our home town in northern Germany.

We got to know the old, great cars just as well as the contemporary models. It was at one of these events that I first laid sight on one of the big post-war jags: a white Jaguar MK VII. Already then, the elegance of this automobile impressed me.

Many years later, I wanted to buy a Jaguar E-Type, ideally a convertible, because I think this is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. However, when I finally came around to making a purchase, my decision was based on further criteria: the classic car should was to be a good investment and earn its running costs itself with wedding trips or other vintage car events. Thus, it had to be a limousine with four doors, not - alas - a convertible.
